Rosa dedicates herself entirely to caring for her animals, such as chickens and hens. She has a medical condition called poliomyelitis, which limits her ability to work. She will be living with her sister, Zoila, who is 79 years old. However, Zoila was not home at the time of the interview.
Rosa has been living in this house for six or seven years. The structure is made entirely of second-hand metal sheets reinforced with iron. She was able to improve the house by taking out a loan and with financial help from her ex-husband, who lives in the United States.
