Shelter Internship

As a Christian non-profit organization doing word and deed ministry in El Salvador, Shelter Helps has the unique opportunity to offer an internship that both furthers our mission and provides cross-cultural ministry experience to participants.

Our mission is to share the gospel through the provision of a home for every Salvadoran in need. Shelter interns will work alongside our Salvadoran staff, learning the ins and outs of operations. They will participate in activities performed by each of our departments, ranging from social media and accounting to community development and mission trip logistics.

Interns will live at our office/hotel compound and enjoy the pueblo-like feel of San Vicente in the shadow of a beautiful volcano. A crucial aspect of the internship is spiritual development and personal growth.

Our desire is to see interns explore their God-given calling, experience growth and maturity that comes through challenges and cross-cultural experiences, and come away with a stronger, more-established faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Interns will meet regularly with a mentor and are given specific projects and responsibilities, including reading several books before arriving in El Salvador.

We are excited for our interns to tackle special projects that will allow our organization to continue to grow and adapt to evolving needs and challenges in ministry. If you have questions about the internship program, please reach out to Clay Jones at
