Dina Urania Sanchez Parada
41 years old / homeowner
Dina works in the fields during the sugar cane season. There, she cuts the sugar cane stalks and ties them into bundles of five. Once she has 45 bundles, they are ready to be sent out. At home, she lives with her husband, José, and her children, Edwin and Angela, but they were not at home at the time of the interview.
The house was built over 20 years ago. Most of it is made of plywood and bahareque (a mixture of mud and bamboo sticks), but both materials are in poor condition. There is not enough space inside the house, so Dina and her husband even sleep outside in hammocks.
